The Farallons: Farallons News

Farallons and The Black Rose Agree to One Year Deal - September 10, 2008

After extensive negotiations The Black Rose Pub and your Farallons have agreed on a one year deal. The Farallons will appear at Imbibe Magazines #1 Irish pub in America each month in 2009. With some variation Tom, Terry & Linda will perform on the third Saturday of each month, but check the listings to make sure.

Kudos for Linda - January 3, 2008

Bill Kotzwinkle is a noted composer, arranger, and playwrite in New York City. In this age of global media he ended up listening to a song Farallon Linda recorded a few years back. This is what he had to say, "tell the singer she's really fine in my book. An authentic voice with real understanding of how to phrase a song. I was far gone in the sound of it, traveling on her gift." Wow, nice words from someone who would know.

Farallon Tom To Play Tucson - March 23, 2007

Our Tom has been selected as a finalist in the Tucson Folk Festival Songwriter Showcase! He'll play on Saturday, May 5.

Good Time Gualala - August 24, 2006

Big thanks to Liz and the others at The Tide radio for playing us up and to Sus, Liz and everybody at the Gualala Arts Center for hosting a really fine festival. Beautiful art, beautiful setting, beautiful people; even the food was beautiful. Hope to see all you Farallonians there next year. http://www.gualalaarts.org/AIR/index.html

Good Time Had By All! - June 18, 2006

The Farallons would like to thank Mary Jo and all the crew at the Turtle Bay Cafe for making us very welcome for three nights. By all accounts, the engagement was a huge success. Thanks Redding!!

Farallons In Redding To Line It Up With The Sun - April 13, 2006

The Thrilling Three have just been booked for three nights at the Cafe at Turtle Bay in Redding; Thursday through Saturday, June 15-17. This is in a great setting at one end of the marvelous new Sundial Bridge which spans the Sacramento River. And it's not just the music; we'll be there just a few days from the Summer Solstice and the bridge really is a gigantic sundial!! Nirvana for you geo-solar music lover geeks. http://www.turtlebay.org/cafe/cafe.shtml

Apple Blossom Time Change - April 13, 2006

The Farallons' performance time at the Sebastopol Apple Blossom Festival has been changed to 3:30 to 5:00 pm. And then off to dinner!

Best Performance! - March 22, 2006

Well, it happened again. Tom won the Best Performance award at the West Coast Songwriters Open Mic in Sacramento Tuesday night. We're not sure if it was his striking wit or just him playing the song; but people seemed to like it.

Tom's Song Wins! - December 19, 2005

Tom's song "Roll Me Home" won Best Song at the West Coast Songwriters North Bay Open Mic, Monday night. Big thanks to songwriter/producer Jim Dean who judged the event, and event manager Jan White.

10th Anniversary - October 11, 2005

The Farallons celebrated their 10th anniversary sometime in 2005, lasting longer than 40% of marriages in the United States. Farallons manager and spiritual leader Roy Rogers Artoozian (aka Precious Roy) remarked, "If they make it another 10 it'll be a freakin' miracle, but it looks like they're going for it!"

Roy also categorically denied any involvement in the Reno radio payola scandal pointing out that Reno and Sparkes are two different places, and, so, technically, he was not even in Reno at that time.
